Ipod Revival

Just picked up a 4th Generation iPod (2004) from eBay.
- Seeing my favourite artists all in one long plain-text list
- No algorithmic hierarchies
- No ads and no distractions
- It does not want my data
- Sitting there in peace with the song I scrolled to and chose
- Adding full albums only
- Monochrome display
- No album artwork — strangely pleasant
- No vanity metrics telling me which songs are worth listening to
- The classic Chicago typeface, designed by Susan Kare
- It is chunky and beautifully designed
- It is a dedicated and elegant music player
Things I've enjoyed thus far:
I don't think it's just nostalgia.
I think that this is a better way to listen to music.
